Similar to human health, there are different levels of veterinary patient care. A general practice veterinarian will be your pet’s primary point of care, providing a wide range of preventative, diagnostic, and therapeutic services on a day-to-day basis.

A veterinary specialist in Australia has completed almost a decade of additional training and rigorous examinations in their field of expertise. They are well-equipped to handle more unusual or complicated cases, and to provide standards of investigation and care on par with those seen in human medicine and surgery. Our doctors regularly attend local and international veterinary conferences in order to stay up-to-date with emerging knowledge and techniques. We also maintain connections within the human medical industry to further advance capabilities.

Our specialty services offer the next step for those cases that are especially complex or critical. We can provide fold standard technology and skills not readily available in a general practice, as well as more intensive care and monitoring for our patients.

We work via referral from your local GP. If you don’t have a local GP, give us a call and we can recommend someone suitable for your pet’s issue, or contact our sister hospital North Shore Veterinary Hospital.

Absolutely, we are happy to give general advice to calls from vets and owners. Please understand this can be limited until our specialists have seen the animal.

We provide owners and local vets details and easy to follow post-operative information that is customized to your pet. And after surgery specialists can be contacted for advice or to re-examine the problem.

We treat dogs, cats, birds and small mammals. If you have a more exotic pet give us a call and we can organise a specialise or point you in the right direction.

This is generally a case-by-case basis, but where possible we will organise time for you to see you pet after surgery if they are continuing to stay with us for observation.

When you book your appointment, you will be quoted for the initial consultation, and on occasion we may also be able to give you an estimate of other expected initial fees. Once your pet has been evaluated by one of our doctors you will receive a more formal assessment of your pet’s treatment options, with an estimate of cost for each, allowing you to make an informed decision on how to proceed.

Please share all of your questions and concerns regarding costs with your doctor before the treatment begins. It is important that your medical team have a clear understanding of your wishes before any course of treatment is undertaken, in order to minimise any misunderstandings or unnecessary stress later on.

Please understand sometime the doctors may need to perform work urgently based in the situation and not be able to contact you for additional work.
