Dr Jade Kingsley earned her veterinary degree from the University of Sydney in 2012. She did so after studying and working in the pharmaceutical industry back home in Canada.
To gain further experience in wildlife and exotic pet experience, she pursued a number of internships whilst in veterinary school. These ranged from working at the Wolong Panda Centre in China, The Bronx Zoo in New York, Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast, elephant hospitals in Sri Lanka and Thailand, and an exotics practice in the Northern Territory. Since graduation, Jade has worked in several exotics and avian hospitals, the RSPCA Wildlife Hospital in Brisbane, as well as emergency hospitals.
Jade enjoys both medicine and critical care of avian and exotic pets and has a soft spot for wildlife, working closely with wildlife care groups. In 2018 Jade completed her membership exams in Avian Health (MANZCVS – Avian Health) and is very excited to be part of the avian service at SERV.
Jade currently lives with her partner and two children, as well as a Pygmy bearded dragon named Spikey and a Devon rex cat named Margaux. She enjoys travelling to remote areas of the world and being outdoors, horse riding, rock climbing, kayaking, canyoning and scuba diving.
