Dr Iago Asorey Blazquez

Iago graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain) in 2013. After completing a rotating internship and an emergency and critical care position in Spain, he began focusing on veterinary anaesthesia and completed a one-year internship in this specialty at the Complutense University of Madrid. In 2017, Iago moved to the United Kingdom, where he undertook an internship and subsequently completed a residency with the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) at Dick White Referrals. He became a Specialist (Dipl. ECVAA) in 2022.

Since then, he has worked as a clinician in anaesthesia, taking on roles across several referral hospitals in the UK and Spain, while also combining clinical practice with teaching as a visiting professor at St. George’s University (Grenada, West Indies).

In August 2025, Iago relocated to Australia to join North Shore Veterinary Hospital as a Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. His main professional interests include locoregional anaesthesia and mechanical ventilation. Outside of work, he enjoys travelling, videography, and scuba diving.
