Small Animal Surgery Specialist
John graduated from the University of Sydney in 1974 and after 18 months in small animal practice in Sydney, he then studied at Oklahoma State University and completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery. On his return in 1977 he commenced at North Shore Veterinary Hospital, becoming a partner in 1981. John attained a Master of Veterinary Studies in 1992 from Murdoch University.
John completed several years of specialty training in surgery at both the University of Florida and the University of Sydney meeting the requirements for Fellowship. Fellowship and Specialist registration in Small Animal Surgery was attained in 1998.
Surgery interests include orthopaedics, neurosurgery and soft tissue surgery including oncology and reconstructive procedures. Recently John has introduced minimally invasive surgery to North Shore with many procedures now done with laparoscopes etc to minimise pain and speed recovery.
